María is a Professor in Crop Science at the Agronomy unit of the University of Buenos Aires and Senior scientist of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council of Argentina.
María conducts research on the physiology of summer grain crops, particularly maize. Her research has been aimed to assist breeding as well as crop management efforts for improving grain crops productivity in Argentina, with focus in maize grain set. She has published widely in this field and is currently engaged in the study of resource use and resource use efficiencies under abiotic stress.
