James Hunt

James is an Associate Professor in Crop Agronomy in the Department of Animal, Plant and Soil Sciences at La Trobe University.
James’ research focuses on using combinations of management and genetics to increase productivity, profitability and sustainability of dry-land cropping and mixed farming systems semi-arid environments. Outcomes of his research have been widely adopted by grain growers across southern Australia, for which he has received a Eureka Prize for Sustainable Agriculture, a CSIRO Medal for Impact from Science and ICM Agrifood award from the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering.
